Vivace RF Microneedling is a next-generation skin rejuvenation treatment that combines the power of microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy to deliver deeper, more dramatic results than traditional microneedling alone. Unlike traditional microneedling—which relies solely on controlled injury to stimulate collagen—Vivace combines this process with radiofrequency (RF) energy to deliver targeted heat deep into the dermis. HOW IS VIVACE DIFFERENT THAN TRADITIONAL MICRO- NEEDLING?

THE SCIENCE OF SKIN REMODLEING

Vivace works by triggering the body’s natural wound-healing response while simultaneously applying RF energy to stimulate neocollagenesis (new collagen formation) and neoelastogenesis (new elastin production). This dual-action process leads to firmer, smoother, and more resilient skin—from the inside out.

Treatment time is approximately 60 minutes, including topical numbing for comfort. Most clients experience mild redness for 1–2 days, with no disruption to daily activities. Results appear gradually as new collagen forms, with optimal outcomes seen after a series of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

WHAT TO EXPECT (BEFORE) :

Before receiving a Vivace RF Treatment at Flight Aesthetics + Salon in Oxford, Mississippi, you’ll have a comprehensive consultation with Robyn, our owner and skilled nurse practitioner.

During this consultation, we will discuss your aesthetic goals, medical history and any concerns you may have. It’s important to inform us of any medications or supplements you’re taking, as certain substances increase the risk of bruising. Please refrain from being on Accutane at least 6 months prior to your treatement.

For at least one week before your treatment, avoid medications and supplements that can thin your blood and increase the risk of bruising. These include aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil and certain herbal supplements. Always consult with your healthcare provider before stopping any prescribed medications. You will also want to avoid tanning beds or unprotected sun exposure at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment – and stay hydrated to ensure perfect results from your procedure! 

On the day of your treatment, come with a clean face free of makeup.

WHAT TO EXPECT (AFTER) :

Immediately following your Vivace RF Microneedling treatment, it's normal to experience some redness and mild swelling, similar to a sunburn. This is completely expected and should subside within 24 to 48 hours. During the first 6 hours post-treatment, it's important to avoid touching your face and applying any products. After this initial period, Robyn will guide you on using a soothing serum or recovery balm to help calm and hydrate the skin.

For the first 24 hours, we recommend avoiding makeup to allow your skin to breathe. Additionally, it's important to skip any intense physical activity like exercise, saunas, or hot showers, as these can increase inflammation and sensitivity.

In the following days, you can gently cleanse your face with a mild cleanser and hydrate your skin with a non-comedogenic moisturizer. Make sure to apply SPF 30+ daily to protect your skin, as it will be more sensitive to UV rays during the healing process. Avoid using strong active ingredients like retinol, AHAs, or BHAs for a few days to prevent irritation.

Key Post-Treatment Care:

  • Avoid makeup for the first 24 hours

  • Refrain from intense exercise, saunas, or hot showers for 24–48 hours

  • Use a gentle cleanser and non-comedogenic moisturizer

  • Apply SPF 30+ daily to protect healing skin

  • Let your skin naturally peel or flake, but do not pick or scratch

Your skin will continue to improve as collagen rebuilds over the next few weeks, and for the best results, completing a series of 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended.   • While Vivace uses fine, gold-tipped needles, the treatment is generally well-tolerated. We apply a topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort during the procedure. You may experience mild redness and swelling immediately after treatment, similar to a mild sunburn.

  • The procedure typically takes about 45–60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. This includes the application of numbing cream, which ensures you’re comfortable throughout the process.

  • Yes! Vivace RF Microneedling is safe for all skin types, including darker skin tones, due to its precision technology. Unlike some other treatments, Vivace can be customized to suit the unique needs of your skin, making it an effective option for a wide range of concerns, from fine lines to acne scars.

  • Vivace is a safe, minimally invasive treatment with very few risks. The most common side effects are redness, swelling, and mild irritation for the first 1–2 days. There is minimal downtime, and serious side effects are rare. We’ll ensure that you’re fully prepared and informed before your treatment.
