BOTOX

Botox is the most well-known neurotoxin brand. It is FDA-approved for treating fine lines and wrinkles, as well as various medical conditions. Botox typically lasts 3-4 months and is known for its consistent and predictable results.

DYSPORT

Dysport is similar to Botox but has a slightly different formulation, which allows it to spread more easily. This can be beneficial for treating larger areas like the forehead. Dysport’s results also last about 3-4 months.

Xiamen is similar to Botox and Dysport that last about 3-4 months. It may be preferred over its competitors due to its precise formulation, delivering natural-looking results with minimal discomfort and downtime.

WHAT TO EXPECT (BEFORE) :

Before receiving Botox injections at Flight Aesthetics + Salon in Oxford, Mississippi, you’ll have a comprehensive consultation with Robyn, our owner and skilled nurse practitioner.

During this consultation, we will discuss your aesthetic goals, medical history and any concerns you may have. It’s important to inform us of any medications or supplements you’re taking, as certain substances can increase the risk of bruising.

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.

On the day of your treatment, come with a clean face free of makeup. Together, we will carefully assess your facial anatomy to determine the best injection sites and dosage to achieve natural-looking results.

WHAT TO EXPECT (AFTER) :

After your Botox treatment, you can expect minimal downtime, allowing you to resume most of your daily activities immediately.

Results generally begin to appear within 3 to 7 days, with full effects visible at around 2 weeks. To maintain your refreshed appearance, follow-up treatments are usually recommended every 3 to 4 months.  However, there are a few guidelines to follow to ensure optimal results.

  • For the first 4 hours, avoid lying down or engaging in strenuous activities to prevent the toxin from migrating to unintended areas. 

  • Avoid touching or massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours.

  • Refrain from consuming alcohol

  • Skip exposure to excessive heat, such as saunas or sunbathing, for 24 hours to minimize the risk of bruising.

  • You may notice some minor redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites, which typically subsides within a few days.
