To my friends, family, and all those who have supported me on this journey,

I want to take a moment to open my heart and share the truth about this season of life. Opening Flight Aesthetics + Salon has been my dream, but it has also tested me in ways I never imagined. Some days, I question if this is even the right path. The closer I get to God, the harder it feels like the enemy is working to tear me down—filling my mind with doubt and trying to steal my joy. It feels as if there’s been one hurdle after the other, all triumphed, but each with a new degree of strategizing and planning.

Let me be clear: while I am a new nurse practitioner, I am far from new to the medical field. I’ve spent years serving others nursing in an ER or serving as critical care nurse on a medical helicopter. I’ve faced life-or-death situations and know the importance of precision, safety and care. Stepping into aesthetics is a whole new world, but I am determined to bring you the absolute best care possible by dedicating myself to learning, training and growing in this new specialty I’ve added to my resume.

The Mississippi Board of Nursing’s recent changes to their policies regarding owning an aesthetic practice, requires me to work under an experienced aesthetics provider before I can practice independently. While I fully support the board’s decision and desire to create a safe aesthetics industry here in Mississippi, it has been a challenge finding someone in close proximity to the clinic willing to train me. Still, I’ve sought out training with some of the top injectors in the country, spent a considerable amount of time in Jackson working with another provider, friend and mentor and am set to attend a cadaver lab soon to gain a deeper understanding of anatomy for the safest, most effective treatments.

I am thankful to have found a place to land with a group of people and a medical director with varying degrees and amount of experience at Amory Aesthetics — a little closer to home and with the ability to begin building relationships and partnerships that will help continue to bring Flight to fruition. Though this process may take longer than I had hoped, I’m committed to doing it the right way and with the right people.

Through all of this, I’ve realized that Flight Aesthetics + Salon is more than just a business—it’s a place God has called me to create. I’ve felt His presence guiding me to make it a space of peace, comfort and connection. That’s why I’ve added a Prayer Wall, open to anyone who needs it. You’re invited to stop by, write down a prayer for yourself, or leave a blessing for us. My hope is to be able to pray for you as diligently as you have me and my new business. I feel honored and humbled that God would give me the vision to create this safe space and use me to pray for others.

I’ll be honest—this journey hasn’t been easy. Navigating life without Bryan has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced, and there are days when the weight of it all feels overwhelming. But I remind myself that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with mine. I’m learning to lean on Him, even in the setbacks, and trust that He’s building something greater than I can see.

As I continue working in the days ahead to perfect the aesthetics side of Flight, I want to encourage you to visit the Flight Salon. Melissa and Angie are incredibly talented and have poured their hearts into making the salon side of Flight a beautiful, welcoming place — full of love, laughter and relaxation. Your support for them means the world to me. You won’t regret it.
