Who am I? The question feels simple but often has the most complex answer.
My name is Robyn Zemek, and I am a mother to Avery and Swayze, a bonus mom to Ayden and Logan, a dedicated nurse, a wife, and above all, a servant of God. My journey has been woven with unexpected turns, challenges, resilience, and deep-rooted faith—all leading me to create Flight Aesthetics + Salon. This is a place that represents love, healing, and purpose, crafted from a life led by God’s guidance.

From an early age, I learned about responsibility and sacrifice. I’m the oldest of six siblings, and when life took an unexpected turn, I returned home from Mississippi State, where I’d started as a pre-vet major, to help care for my younger siblings. It was a pivotal moment in my life. I knew I had to find a new path, and that’s how I ended up in nursing school, though I’ll admit, I hated it.
Two years into my BSN program, I walked away and enrolled in EMT school, where I fell in love with life on the ambulance. I went on to become a paramedic, working with EMS in Hernando, MS, and quickly found that healthcare—helping people when they’re most vulnerable—was a calling placed in me by God.
As life would have it, I soon found myself back in nursing school. With a 3-month-old and an 18-month-old, I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but sometimes the hard paths are the ones with the deepest purpose. Working on the ambulance introduced me to EMS helicopters, and that sparked a fire in me. My dream became clear: I wanted to be a flight nurse. After nursing school, I went straight to one of the busiest ERs in downtown Memphis to gain experience, and in 2016, I achieved my dream, joining the air as a flight nurse with Hospital Wing. I’d never felt so aligned with my purpose.
Over the years, my career evolved, but my passion for serving others has been the constant thread. I continued to grow as a Flight Nurse, extended my role into management, obtained a Master’s in Nursing Leadership and Management, and joined the Air National Guard as a Flight Nurse. Along the way, I met three incredible people who would become my closest friends and supporters.

Tiffany was a paramedic partner whose path continually intersected with mine. Together, we navigated some of the most mentally and emotionally challenging patient transports, and our friendship became a support system in an emotionally taxing career.
Then there was Sara, my friend and mentor, whom I met through the Air Force. She’s a fierce woman, and an incredible business owner who has been my guide through some of the most difficult moments in my life, standing by me when I needed her most.

And then there was Bryan, one of the Hospital Wing pilots. For two years, he barely spoke a word to the medical crew, keeping to himself as the mysterious Apache helicopter pilot we all respected from afar. But when he finally opened up, I found myself captivated by his intelligence, quick wit, and his fierce dedication to protecting those he loved.

Life has a way of surprising us, and at the end of 2020, Bryan and I found ourselves inseparable. I fell in love with every part of him. We eloped and were married on December 31, 2020, with his best friend officiating. From there, life was a whirlwind—Bryan left on a year-long deployment, and I headed to officer training. Through it all, God was looking out for us, keeping us together even across the miles.
After his deployment, Bryan and I built a beautiful life together. In 2023, on our annual December trip, while in Park City, Utah, Bryan encouraged me to turn a long-standing idea into a reality. He was the one who pushed me to bring Flight to life, and it was his belief in me that finally gave me the courage to take the leap.

Then, on February 23, 2024, everything changed. Bryan died in a helicopter crash, and my world was shattered. He was my rock, the one who knew how to ground me when life felt overwhelming, and suddenly, he was gone.
The months that followed were filled with a grief that words can’t capture, but in that darkness, I found myself leaning even closer to God. I felt His presence guiding me, showing me that Bryan’s dream and our vision didn’t have to end; it was just changing course.
Despite Bryan’s absence, I felt him urging me forward, pushing me to finish what I had started. Through that strength, I completed my nurse practitioner degree at the University of North Alabama, becoming a board-certified family nurse practitioner—a milestone I know Bryan would have been proud to watch me complete.
After his death, I continued my journey in the skies as a flight nurse with my amazing PHI Air Medical family, where I was blessed with an incredible, supportive crew. However, I soon felt God pulling me in a new direction, and on September 8, 2024, I hung up my flight suit for the last time. Saying goodbye to my PHI team was difficult, but I knew that God was guiding me toward a new chapter with Flight Aesthetics + Salon.
Throughout this journey, I’ve learned the power of resilience and the importance of trusting God, even when the path ahead feels uncertain. One verse that has given me strength is, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6. This promise has been my guiding light, reminding me that even in the hardest times, God is faithful and has a purpose for each step.
Since then, I’ve dedicated myself fully to Flight Aesthetics + Salon. I’ve trained with the best in aesthetics, learning and growing, and continuing my mentorship with Sara. God’s plan is unfolding, and every day I see His purpose in ways that I never expected. I know He’s guiding me, using Flight to bring light to others, and I’m excited to see what He has in store.

Flight Aesthetics + Salon is more than a medspa and salon; it’s a space of healing, resilience, and transformation. It’s a reflection of the journey that brought me here—a journey marked by love, loss, and unwavering faith. God put me here for a reason, and I’m grateful for the chance to honor Bryan’s memory, to serve others and to walk this path with faith in the beautiful plans He has for us.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
